October Updates

Great things have been happening during our Friday Night Hope Homeless Outreaches in Downtown Nashville. This recent post from Bro. Mike following a recent Friday Night Hope sums it up:

“Friday Night Hope, outreach to the Homeless of Nashville, was a great success. The Rv pulled into its familiar place. Beverly, Chelsea, and Carrie took their positions and began organizing the food distribution with lots of capable help. The stage was prepared And NRC house band, Bob Bradley on drums, David Hand on lead guitar and legendary bass player Fred Martin Gonzalez backed country artist Jennifer Brantley. They played an interesting selection of country original, classics, and gospel songs. The van prowled the dark and dangerous inner city streets finding desperate, hungry, forsaken men and women in so many differing conditions of distress and hopelessness. The sack lunches, cold drinks, prayer and encouraging words offered hope to people without any. We were informed by sources last night that two men we have been ministering to for years had died. RIP HustleMan and Scott. Great job by all of our folks, especially Jimmy Kirk. Richard Pelfrey and, David Estes. Thanks to you our Partners, who without your support and prayers, not one of these people would have been ministered to. Special thanks to Chad Custer, Josh Parrish, and the great folks at Nelson Mazda, our generous hosts, at 1212 Broadway. Blessings to all of you!!! (missed dearly tonight was Cassie Coupe, who purchased all the food and organized the sack lunches)”

Tent Revial Report: In September we had a Tent Revival at Place of Hope. The tent was the real thing. It was a gift from Jesus Is Lord Ministry and the Family of the late evangelist, Bro. Charles Thompson, of Heber Springs, AR. We had a different Minister and Congregation, each night. On Wednesday Sept 12, Scott McCloud and Thunder School came from Provision Intl. in Nashville, Tn. On Saturday night we honored Jesus Is Lord Ministry and the memory of Bro Charles Thompson. On Sunday night Russ Adcox amd Maury Hills Church Of Christ ministered. Monday night the rain moved us indoors. Inclement weather did not deter Steve Morgan and Destiny Church of Columbia, Tn. On Tuesday night, Pastor Darren Tyler and Conduit Mission Church came with the band, Hearts of the Saints. Wednesday night featured Joe Evans from First Presbyterian Church and Tommy Vann from St. Luke’s United Methodist Church both in Columbia, Tn. Thursday night Pastor Kevin Riggs came from Franklin Community Church, in Franklin, Tn. Pastor Nick Serban III and his esteemed father Nick Serban Jr. came from Full Life Assembly of God in Franklin, Tn. Closing the week of services was Pastor Mark Rampulla and Southview Community Church from Spring Hill, Tn. It was an incredible time of Interdenominational unity. It was the most spiritually blessed week of my Christian life. My personal thanks to these great People of God and their churches. Each are amazing.

Friday Night Hope

Friday Night Hope, our homeless outreach ministry, continues to offer practical and eternal help to Nashville’s neediest folk. August outreach dates are October 12th and October 26th.

All are welcome to join us! We meet at NRC, 1600 Elm Hill Pike, at about 6pm for a hotdog dinner before setting up to serve the community at OUR NEW LOCATION, Nelson Mazda, in downtown Nashville (1212 Broadway).

Nashville Recovery Church

Many of the people that are served on Friday nights are then picked up on Sunday mornings to attend Nashville Recovery Church, an inner-city outreach church located at 1600 Elm Hill Pike in Nashville. After church participants enjoy a free meal and an opportunity to receive practical help. Nashville Recovery Church meets every Sunday in October at 10:30 AM
